We were looking for an original wideline Dommi for a while. Problem is most of them are (over)restored by now and, more often than not, modified with questionable “updates, improvements” and stainless fittings I wouldn’t want to trust my life with.
Why did we buy this sorry-looking vehicle you might ask. Because it was remarkably original, comes with the original logbook and original registration number, and will give us a good template for wideline featherbed parts. It will also make a nice bike when restored. The dispatch book says “special finish”. Whether that concerns the petrol tank/sidecover colour I wonder!
According to the dispatch records our 88 was sent to Edinburgh in 1959, registered, and spent its whole life there.
